Our stores were founded in 1946 by Al & Joyce Petri. Our first location, originally called Alt's Bike & Toy, was opened in Lincoln Park, down the street from our former 2160 Fort Street location. We opened a second store in Trenton in 1967 and moved to our Woodhaven location in 1978. In August 2019, we closed the Lincoln Park location and consolidated to our Woodhaven store. We closed the Woodhaven location in November 2025. It was a tough decision for our family, but one we had to make. Thank you, Downriver, for 79 unforgettable years.You supported us, encouraged us, and treated us like family. You made Petri Bikes more than a shop - you made it home. Our story and legacy will always be tied to this incredible community.
